This is a link to a news article where the headline reads "Boy beaten to death while mom serves in Iraq".

 

It is absolutely sick in and of itself that this child was beaten to death...a four year old beaten by a grown man.  That's the kind of crime I'd really like to see the old punishments brought back for...you know....drawing & quartering...the rack...burning at the stake...things like that. 

 

What makes me even more sick is that for some reason, the US government thought it wise to deploy a single mother to Iraq...what the hell are they thinking?!?  Will someone hurry the hell up and impeach Bush so this war that no one wanted in the first place, and that will probably go down in the history books as illegal since the UN had voted against it, can finally come to an end?

 

What a waste of lives.  How do the members of Bush's party sleep at night?

 

I'm disgusted and even more grateful to be living here...hopefully Harper will not last long...

I don't even have anything to say about this...the headline says it all...

 

 

Thank goodness these guys took up this challenge...it's a good learning lesson.  Fast food & junk are cheaper than healthier alternatives.  What's worse is that it's a vicious cycle.  Poor people become overweight because they can't eat properly and then wind up with more medical issues and eventually expenses. 

 

For the love of God, tell me there isn't a better way somehow, somewhere!  I flatly refuse to believe that this is what society is boiling down to.

 

 

Can't live with 'em...can't believe a word they tell you.

 

I'm thinking that becoming a nun looks like a really good idea; but the one thing men are good for is the thing I wouldn't be able to do as a nun....dammit.

 

 

 

The Jones Soda Co. has come out with a Green Pea flavoured soda.  One word: WHY?  WHO, in their right mind, would want to say "I'll have the green pea please" when offered a drink?  I think I was stampeded by a herd of comedians (although, I think a group of comedians should be called a "heckle"...that's my two cents) all lining up to make jokes about drinking green pea.

 

This is a world gone mad, mad, mad....

Wow, it's been so long since I ranted on this site that I almost forgot how!

 

Although, I have discovered today how to upload photos in here but how to delete a photo album eludes me.  Productive day.

 

Interesting few months I've been having...will update as soon as I find a second to spare.  Anybody got a second to loan me?!?

Okay, I am sick to death of hearing about how the seal hunt is so inhumane and how we Canadians are wrong to support it.

 

First - let's get something straight.  People are reacting to the vivid pictures of seeing cute cuddly white baby harp seals killed on the snow...kill a deer and you're going to have just as much blood showing in the snow, folks, so give that up. 

 

Second - no one sees the size of an adult harp seal, do they?  They're about 1000lbs and they eat half their weight in food every day.  They have no, or very few, natural predators...the polar bears and killer whales are endangered species now mainly due to global warming.  Therefore, the only way to keep the herds healthy is a proper culling, and that's too hard to do with the adults, and that would be a waste completely, since their fur can't be used for anything.

 

Third - while activits scream about the lack of necessity to have an annual culling because the herds are healthy and thriving...figure it out, people, that's the ONLY reason the herds are healthy and thriving.

 

Believe me, if the hunters could find a way to use the seal meat, they would...but do you know anyone who eats seal meat?  Another thing, if there were an easier way to hunt them, rather than club them (which keeps them from damaging the useful fur), they would use it.  Trust me on that one.  No one wants to have to go walking out on an ice floe to club a seal over the head.  It's not a sport.

 

In the meantime - I really wish all those activists would go to the slaughter houses where the cattle are killed to provide their nice leather coats, shoes, belts and purses.

 

Be real folks, and go boycott something that's truly inhumane - ethnic cleansing.  There are parts of the world that people are suffering and children are dying of starvation, but hey, these activists would much rather spend their hard earned money on a plane ticket to go scream at some legal hunters in the Arctic than to donate that money to feed some starving children elsewhere in the world.

 

Or if that's just too complicated and people are too unsympathetic about that, then how about boycotting veal?
